Dyslexia Screening
If you are unsure whether to proceed with a full diagnostic dyslexia assessment, a screening might be a good option. It can screen for different elements within an individual's learning profile which could be attributed to dyslexia.
With a dyslexia screening, a diagnosis cannot be given but it can guide next steps
What does a dyslexia screening entail?
How long will it take?
A screening tool will take approximately an hour compared to a full assessment which can take up to 3 hours
How is it different to an assessment?
The screening looks at key areas within a learning profile which include, rapid naming, working and short term memory, spelling, writing speed and reading. It does not fully assess each area in detail but it will give you an indicator of whether there are challenges within these key areas
A one page profile will be written based on the results of the assessment with some recommendations for home and school included.
Questionnaires will be sent to both home and school to support the screening
How much does it cost?
The dyslexia screening tool will cost £150 which a non-refundable deposit of £50 to secure a date
If you then proceed to a full assessment, this payment of £150 will be deducted if you book an assessment with myself within 12 months
